Data logging

Miss Siti Shamsiah had introduce to us the data logging and explain why and when to use data logging in teaching and learning.

From today class, I have learned that:

• Data logging is an electronic instrument that records measurements over time.
• The readings are then transferred to the computer.
• It utilized software used to read information from sensors.
• Types of sensors: Temperature, Light, Sound, pH, Dissolved oxygen, Humidity etc.
• The advantages and disadvantages using data logging.

As a task, Miss Siti had asked us to design Biology experiments that integrates data logging in a group. My group decided to make an experiment about B.O.D value using dissoved oxygen sensors. We had done our experiments and we need to present the results to our lecturer next week.

From this experiments, I have learned how to use data logging. Actually, I dont like working with computer systems, but after learn about data logging it really helps me a lot. It gives me better understanding of scientific experimentation and enhaced my computer skills. I am really appreciated the advantages of data logging over conventional experiments.
